POLISH 1989 'SOLIDARNOSC' BANNER SIGNED BY WORLD LEADERS: WALESA, GORBACHEV & MORE A breathtaking piece of history, this 25"x54" colorful cloth banner reads 'Solidarnosc' (solidarity in English) once hung in the entrance-way of the Solidarity Headquarters in Gdansk, Poland in 1989, when the represented political movement was about to bring down the communist regime, along with all of the other countries behind the 'Iron Curtain' at the time. Many of the important persons who participated in the rise of free Poland, and general downfall of Communism in Europe, have signed this banner. An incredible assortment, a who's who of 1980s political leaders, including signatures from: Solidarity leader and later Polish President Lech Walesa, inscribed with date '23.09.1999', Soviet Premier Michael Gorbachev, the architect of Glasnost and Perestroika, inscribed with date '11.01.01', British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, dated '30 October 1999', U.S. President George H.W. Bush, dated 'Oct. 30, 2001', his Vice President, Dan Quayle, same date, President Reagan's Secretary of State George P. Shultz, dated 'October 30, 1999', Pope John Paul II, Czech Republic revolutionary and President Vaclev Havel, signed as 'Havel' with a drawn heart, finally, U.S. statesman and former Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger. Although not actually part of the banner, affixed to the presentation piece is a note of Polish currency, signed by former U.S. President Ronald Reagan. Some of the autographs are starting to fade, especially Kissinger, Havel and Walesa, item needs some TLC by winning bidder. Banner affixed to 3'x5' cardboard, with each of the ten statesman's color pictures also attached. Ten signatures in all. Includes various publications and photographic evidence of signatures. Incredible find, an absolutely fantastic centerpiece for a museum. (Signature House COA) (Image)

Ostatnio ten, razem z Leninem :

Niemiecki publicysta na szefa Europejskiego Centrum Solidarności. Germanizacja przebiega prawidłowo.
